What is Regulatory Body?
A regulatory body is like a professional body but it is not a membership organisation and its primary activity is to protect the public.
Radio have to follow by laws and codes for example they cannot put anything provocative on a advert. Radio stations also have to follow the regulatory body rules of having no offensive things being said about any members of the general public and have no offensive language that would be offensive to young people. They may also use this to project the public from extremist views of any sort and stop these from being aired on the radio.
What to consider when making a advert.
1. Don't be offensive to any certain group of the public.
2. Don't be scary for children or any other sensitive member of the public.
3. Don't use rude language or any words that could be offensive to people.
4. Don't use sexual or obscene references in your adverts if they are shown before 9pm.
5. Don't use dark or borderline wrong humour that could be seen as offensive to others.
6. Try to make your advert as light-hearted as possible and make it easily watchable.
7. Don't promote alcohol, drug use, gambling or other addictive things within your advert.
